How to Make an Effective DIY Wasps Trap (Step by Step)

If you can purchase wasp traps, they are often sticky or difficult to set up. Instead, try to make your own reusable wasp trap out a plastic bottle and some enticing bait like meat, sugar or dish soap. This homemade wasp trap will be effective in catching the wasps and also be easy for you to set up and maintain.
Making Process
- Take a plastic of 2 L Coca-Cola bottle and remove the label. Then you will be able to easily see through the bottle. You don’t have to use a 2 L Coca-Cola bottle to create this wasp trap. You can use different type of plastic bottles or carton to make the trap.
- Mark a line with a marker around the neck of the plastic bottle. Make sure that the line should be just under the neck of the bottle and where the mid-section of the bottle becomes a straight cylinder. Cut the neck off the plastic bottle through the marked line.
- Using a paper towel, pour grease inside the bottle and funnel with olive oil. Instead of olive oil, you can also use petroleum jelly in the bottle.
- Flip the neck upside-down and put the neck into the bottle. Make sure the cap is removed before putting the neck into the bottle. This is the opening where the wasps will be entering into the trap.
